Buying product(s) from Jumia and Konga is easy with Debit Card issued by any of the Nigerian banks but buying products from AliExpress is not, because unlike Jumia and Konga, AliExpress processes payments in US Dollars. To purchase any product on AliExpress, you must have a dollar card. And not just on AliExpress but also on Amazon, eBay, Wish or any other E-commerce websites that processes payments in US Dollars.
Now, you must have gotten a Dollar Card. Let's proceed on how to buy your favourite product on AliExpress. All you need from that card to start placing orders on AliExpress is the serial number at the front of the card, the Expiry Date (month/year) and the 3 digits security code (CVV) at the back of the card. On the Barter app, simply tap on your card to switch view (front or back).
AliExpress service also includes buyer protection (usually 60 days) that ensures that if anything goes wrong you'll get your money back. And unlike Jumia and Konga, AliExpress allows you to chat directly with the Seller of the product you want to buy.
However, since the products are not shipped from Nigeria, the delivery can take up to a month or more in some cases and there is no Pay On Delivery or Home Delivery service on AliExpress. So, only prepayment method is available and your package will be delivered to the nearest Post Office.
But with what I've said before, AliExpress is still very considerable if you want something cheap at their standard quality. Because sometimes, what you purchase from Jumia at a certain price, you can get it at half the price on AliExpress. But you shouldn't be too much obsessed with cheap product, check quality first!. And the only way you can do that is to read the customer reviews on that product.

Procedure to Purchase the Product you want on AliExpress
- Go to AliExpress website or App and log in/register your account.
- Search for the product you want to buy and select from the search results.
- Ensure you've funded your card with the appropriate amount of money. Check the product price and the shipping fee to know.
- On the product page, click Buy Now or Add to Cart if you want to surf for more products.
- Enter your delivery address properly(with zip code) and don't make a mistake in entering your phone number. You can look up the zip/postal code of your area on Google search.
- Now, enter your card details and proceed. You may get an error message as shown below if you're using Barter Dollar Card for the first time.
- Keep calm and click Claim on Alipay to verify your identity.
- Upload screenshots of your ID card and the Dollar Card you want to use for the payment. In my case, I used my NIN slip and it was accepted.
- Within 2-3 business days, you'll get an email that your card has been verified successfully. Now, you can go ahead and continue your payment.
Where will my Package be delivered to?
After successful payment, your payment will be confirmed and your package will be shipped within few days. As I have said earlier, the delivery can take up to 30 days or more. Then, your package will be delivered to the closest Post Office to the address you entered. Simply go to the Post Office to collect your package.
